Frankincense was used in ancient Egypt by the upper class to combat bad smells associated with evil. It is still used as incense today.
Frankincense is a resin that oozes from the tree when the bark is damaged, forming tear-shaped chunks when it solidifies upon contact with air.  Its fragrant and balsamic aroma is used in various perfumes.
